About Me

I am a clinical licensed dietitian with over 30 years of experience in diverse healthcare settings. I have had the privilege of working in busy teaching hospitals and within various communities across the UK, as well residential agencies in the USA.

Currently, I focus on utilizing my extensive knowledge and experience to help individuals implement healthy diet and lifestyle promoting changes to help improve their nutritional status.

Over years I have seen nutrition evolving drastically – along with changes in food labeling, food availability, and the rise of “food-like” substances and ‘imitation’ foods. Despite having more information available now and increased availability and variety of foods, many people find themselves more confused than ever about what to eat. Along with these chronic diseases such as obesity, heart disease, and diabetes are increasing associated with poor food choices and lifestyle.

I believe each person is unique with their own story. Our lives have become increasingly hectic, with longer work hours, more stress, and constant juggling of family and career responsibilities. This often leads to little time for meal planning, leading to poor food choices and eventually negative health outcomes.

Dietary consultations have come a long way from my early days as a dietitian. Initially my role was simply to provide information and hope people would follow it. Over time, we have learned that this approach does not work.

Today, we understand that just assessing individual requirements and providing dietary information is only part of the picture. It is crucial to examine bloodwork for nutritional markers, assess quality and quantity of the diet and consider lifestyle factors. Things like social eating habits, quality and quantity of exercise and sleep, stress level and meal timings all play significant roles in a person’s health.

When individuals understand the connections between their dietary intake, lifestyle choices and bloodwork, they are more likely to follow the advice provided – because it makes sense! Proposing a realistic, actionable plan with achievable goals within a set time frame can help motivate and achieve real results.

Aimbitious

I am passionate to empower individuals to take control of their health through personalized, nutrition and lifestyle changes. I believe with the right support anyone can make meaningful changes to improve their nutritional status. You do not have to sacrifice the food you love for the health you need. If you are ready to take the next step towards better healthier life, I look forward to working with you.
